Take the time to relax.
You are a wedding photographer, you’re not a robot. You do not really have to be right behind the camera lens all of the time. This is not the kind of thing that is being expected from you as a wedding photographer. Although there is some kind of stigma when it comes to the aspect of the wedding photographer needing to be in shooting from behind the camera all of the time, this does not necessarily have to be the case when it all comes down to it. As a wedding photographer, you will need to be there right from the very start until the very end of the wedding coverage. This means that you will need to really conserve your energy. You need to make sure that you have enough stamina to last all throughout the wedding photography quirky. You don’t have to shoot pictures of the wedding all of the time. Some parts of the wedding do not necessarily require photo coverage.
One common example is when people are in the middle of eating during the reception.
Regardless of how good looking people can turn out to be, the fact remains that no one could look good while they have food stuffed in their mouths. They will not appreciate the aspect of being photographed while they are chewing through their food. This is what you should go ahead and prepare yourself for when it all comes down to it. Rest up a little bit and go ahead and eat a little bit if you have to. Conserve your energy because you need to be there as a wedding photographer right until the very end of the day.
Live in the moment and be a spontaneous wedding photographer.
Although you may have an itinerary of shots that you need to check out and follow through with as a wedding photographer and although you need to make sure that you get through each and every single item on that list, you should also keep an eye out for the unplanned events or moments. Do not be afraid or do not hesitate to segue out a little bit if something catches your eye as a wedding photographer. It is very important for you to go by with your instincts the entire time that you are at it. This is where the creative mill starts to churn. You should go by with your guts and you should now let your itinerary stop you from taking great looking detailed shots during the wedding. Although these shots might turn out to be unplanned ones and although the clients might not ask you right out to take them, these shots are something that they will really be able to appreciate once you show them the final finished photos. Take your initiative to be creative and make it a point to live in the moment and be in the moment all at the same time. Think on your feet and act fast.
Prep work saves the day every single time. Prepare as much as you possibly can so that you don’t come across any delays.
